U know what? i saw a really amazing thing at RDA on mon. Its long but bear with me.
So, my week started out being exhausted from my weekend at skateline. I was late for RDA, so rushed rushed rushed n i finally got thr. I was assigned to kai hui and Ezekiel. Both with spastic disorders and cerebral palsy. Ezekiel is generally independent and out-going so he didn't really need much persuasion to get on George ( sucha a sweet horse really) and start having fun on her.
But for kai hui, she screamed and cried when george got near her, scaring even george! I didn't know who was more afraid of each other. George flinched whenever she gt near the screaming kai hui. It got to the point that we had to stop trying and let others take her place. But something that really amazed me was that kai hui, through the gentle persuasion of her school's helpers, she gradually overcamed her fear when we all thought it would be impossible for her to ride today. Slowly, we saw her gained confidence and started having fun, smiling and even managing to say 'walk-on' to george. Her progress was something remarkable. I mean from being terrified of something and then to overcome it, is really such a achievement for these kids. Same with yu ting, she made a hell lot of commotion because she refused to wear the riding hat, we sorta need 5 ppl to restrain her to put her helmet on and carry her on to the horse. But once on it, its like one would hv thought it impossible wth a screaming and struggling girl, but yu ting just grined. Just like tt. A grin so wide that i was just amazed by it. Wow. She was just enjoying it from there. i think she forgot her helmet was on by then.
My job with skateline's great. The other staff there are really nice. But most of the time im with this guy, samuel, at the warehouse . Thought he was some super unfriendly guy at first but after awhile he's not, can be quite fun actually. Sometimes u get paid to sit around, sometimes customers just keep badgering u wth questions and take out 4 or 5 skates to try. Lucky the space small, they're forced to keep some of them themselves. But hey man im working with sth tt interests me, im not gonne complain.
Yay, danial's uncle offered a grp of us jobs at a 2 day leadership camp with some international school kids held at m'sia.. Fast cash and its gonna be fun wth dan, jj and nat at KL. Thanks man. =D BUT i still think kids are terrors, doesnt make it better now tt its international sch kids. =/pray for me someone. Recently, my tolerance level aint high.
