the weather today was good, it finally stopped raining. Which was really good cause i was invited by vincent to come along on his day off to little india to take pictures. Not as a tourist though but to trawl the alleys and streets for interesting sights. I've always wanted to learn how to work a SLR cause i really enjoy capturing the feel of that one moment and vince was a good pro to learn from. So we parked the car at a carpark at crap i cant remember the name. its this place where they sell really old stuff, i spent my childhood visiting that place with my dad.
And we walk, walked and walked. Capturing good shots but missing others. Finally it was lunch. we walked to muthu's sth sth restuarant. MMM smackingly good. We had nasi bryani, the signature dish-fish head curry, chicken curry, some veggi dish and dessert of kulfi. BUT vincent wanted us to eat with our hands. It was a really cool experience except that i was really hungry and there was great food before me but my hands are so small and slow. i had to mold it, balance it and deposit it in my mouth with only half of what i first picked up, the other half dropped along the way. In the end, i ended up full cause i was so slow. Hey great method for those on diet but dont want to gobble down ur food. Now, when i smell my fingers, i get the fragant smell of muthu's curry.. Mmm. haha.
Well, after all was done, we headed over to tamp to get our films developed. An hour before the shots were done, we went to delifrance to eat again. haha. haiyo like pigs right. So we talked about lotsa stuff la. Finally, the time came for the developed photos. Vince's was good, as in really really good. You could feel the emotions there of that place and time. The desolate man, the lady in bright pink sari squinting from the sun amidst pale shades of other bodies, that kinda thing. Mine was well just nice. Its like artistry was there but it wasnt fresh or have as much emo. But i had one, which we both thought was good. At least it was my second time taking pics like these and my first handling a SLR. I wasnt that bad for a amatuer. =)
