I've been MIA for the past week or so and im back.. =) Spent the days at the Milo Asia Swimming Championships and had the time of my life there. It felt great being in the thick of the action and i've made so many international friends. The indonesians mainly, since im with their team, a few m'sians and got to meet synchro swimmers from all over Asia.
Its been wondeful having them and i've really really enjoyed myself for the past 7 days. Though i admit, it was one big headache at the start with a f***ed up chain of command, which got me pissed off quite a few times too but i was stretched and brought out of my comfort zone. Its like suddenly you are only 17 going on 18 and you have 20 girls and ladies under you. Oh, not including DPR Korea, which we took on on the 2nd day. At times you realise that for someone that has lived 17 years here in singapore, i actually dont know much bout it. Err, im more knowledgeable now and this has been a very valuable experience in terms of what im studying. Sigh i miss the team and all the excitement of the swimming meet. This is one of my best volunteer/paid job ever.
Of course, my very dear fellow LOs (Liaison officers) like stella, yiming, xinyi, shawn, jerome and jane made work all so fun. Its been great spending those long and idle times crapping and joking round with them. =) its like we've been practically living at riverview hotel and toa payoh swimming complex for the whole meet, barely having time to sleep. Up at the crack of dawn to be at the complex and ends late at the hotel. i've met so many new new friends and also important contacts in the sports scene! very nice people really, or rather those over at synchro. (heard swimming side has a few meanies) but alas, life has to move on after the 10thmar. so much to do and so much to catch up with.
