I've been wondering lately about the different genres of love that one can encounter in a lifetime. Its such a cliché topic 'cause Love is all hyped up, often generalised into the love between two people who's seeing in each other a life partner. That kind of love is the commonest kind of love and the most sought after. Its importance is something not many can deny because at the end of the day that person is going to be the one you share a life with and sharing something like 'life', you cant afford to just give it away lightly. So lets say you mastered that love, you found someone whom your world revolves around and you’ve been through tough times together, coming out stronger than before, is that the end of the path called Love?
But that didn't feel right somehow, the picture still feels kind of empty. I guess that's where the other kins of love came subtly into the picture, the distant, not-so-sung-about ones. The kind of love for a child, love for a parent, love for a brother/sister, love for a friend so dear, love for a passion, love for much... Loving your other half, there are a millions things in this world that teaches you how to, that's why we all learn that first and form our own perceptions of it. But learning to love a parent, a sibling, a friend, people that might not be as important a part of your life, learning to love them and putting half of the effort as you would with the commercialized love, I wonder how different relationships with them would be. Not many things teaches you how to love a friend, I mean that sentence itself, I myself cant comprehend what it really means, its all trial and error. But if its half of what its like to love a special person in your life, I would think it takes a lot of ups and downs to mold your friendship together. The very few times I've came across materials regarding the one of the many different faces of love, it always leaves a deep impression, though at that time I havnt really given this topic much thought and couldn't link up. But its enough for me to understand the fact that even though the cases of true loves are few, many have still climbed up that tall mountain but the same cant be said for the smaller but more difficult mountains of a different love.
