Its been really long. I can try updating but i'll never cover or remember all that has since happened. The most recent event would be yesterday's. The three week long matches are finally over, my last year with the team. Its quite a relief after those endless awkward moments not knowing what to say or do. But yesterday, yesterday the boys gave us the best match ever.
From hope, they brought us to despair, and then they made miracles. I think its something about having our twenty strong girl's team wearing NYP colours standing and cheering in unison til the end cause with 5-2 at the last 10 mins with RP leading, who would have thought that they are gonna get it back only in the last three minutes of the game. One goal in the 57th minute got it back to 5-3 and that was all that they needed to score one more in the second last minute and ONE more in the last 20s to make a comeback at 5-5. I think we. went. positively. crazy.
Five minutes of extra time followed and I knew it was only a matter of time before the guys scored the winning goal. They had to do this after coming so far. And no prizes for guessing but they walked home champions that night. =) It was a totally sweet moment when they gathered in the court below us in a line, hands around each shoulder, and gave a bow to us with the girl's team giving them a standing ovation from above. Old school romeo and juliet style, but our chemistry and euphoria from winning was the envy of the other teams.. This is better than worldcup.
On our own, the girls did very well. Even though it was third placing that we won but its a known fact that the game we played was a tough one and both teams were supposedly the favourites to play in the finals. In the end, we still had to face NTU and we got our winning goal in the last 27secs by our dearest sya who lost many chances to score in the previous games but gave us that one goal that ultimately mattered. It was euphoria again because we all saw her heart breaking and confidence go in the previous games but she has since gotten it back. =)
