Tonight is a moment of thoughts aint it! Two posts in an hour. =) My psych notes are turning cold on the desk. Im on a high because i love my bike and i just brought it out for a ride. Derek called with an invitation for a scenic ride out and 20minutes was all that i was given to be at his place so off i went and the feeling of breaking new frontiers is always amazing. The slope that i always stood at the bottom of, looking up in fear and wonder, i biked up it! Many hills here look like gravity is gonna eat you up and im really afraid of them. The ride to his place was amazingly smooth with adrenaline pumping in me. A 5min call and a companion was all that was needed to get me to leave the psych notes and to get over my fear of exploring the city with its hills.
I now officially know that the best way to see Brisbane in its night time glory will be on friday night bikes. Brisbane is a city for bicycle lovers, the bike paths here lead to fantastic views. Its you by the river, with the city ahead and the big bridges overhead... I saw the city in an hour in a way that a day wouldnt be able to... Kangaroo Points look amazing by night and the city of brisbane morphs from a normal city to a charming city with little perfect peaceful spots at every corner i turn. There's something about being part of the pulsing life in the city but yet still be out of it observing it from afar, like being on the roof! The bike paths here are pleasantly straight and quiet, yet at every corner and exit that you turn out from, the path brings you to a whole litted night scene that stretches endlessly. Derek's right, i know how somedays, on free nights, how he's able to hop on his bike along with his camera kit on his back, riding not to get to places but for the moments. Now's thats THE life.. Hmmm, we physios that studies like dogs, knows our brand of fun after all..
