the days that have come and gone.
there were a hundred moments that i wished i had something, anything, a piece of paper and pen to scribble the thoughts that i've had of the places that i've gone to, seen and been part of this month. The holidays are over as the weekend arrives with all its lazy afternoons and sleepy mornings.
Wished i could have brought you along with me.. I couldnt really, so i hope to offer something with the pictures i've taken and hopefully someday i'll be able to bring people around to the places that i so loved.
There was the farm out in the country, whilst we slept under the roof and blankets that has seen a century come and gone, i thought about all that country life has represented to me, tried to make all sorts of plans and search for connections as to how i can come back to the acres and acres of land and to the gumtrees. I wished that i would always hold the memory of the man singing and playing folk songs about his land and this country on his guitar in a warm fireplace after dinner. I thought about how life seeps into you with songs about these things and places you loved and the gift of those whose fingers brought life through songs. I dont know, places like this just makes me wonder if somehow somewhere i could belong to part of a country life. Was it a coincidence that i grew up loving everything charmingly old, rustic and collected little wooden knick knacks like as if im collecting little bits of my heart. My mum disliked this habit, because of all the dust that collects on every little cracks on them but i loved that every thing i possessed tells a different story of its own, and maybe just maybe, alittle of mine as well. I fancy country music and the blues which wasnt that much of a surprise to me, i love all animals and i would attempt to talk to them in my head all the time. I should probably marry a farmer. Where the anatomy labs and physio world are ruled by science and rules that feels mechanical, this other world was filled with warmth, good laughs, fresh airs and plenty of things im unfamiliar with but have been drawn to all my life.
There was tasmania, where i absolutely fell in love with too. Its a place that i can see myself coming back to and even settling down here with a little house, a 4WD and a dog in my backseat =D There will be afternoons of long drives through beautiful scenary, camping trips, great hikes, fishing and one of the most beautiful (and isolated) beaches in the world. You know... life like that will be close to perfection, but of course i can have all that but without people to share it with, it wouldnt work. I can plan and i can prepare for the things that i want to have all my life but whether it stays an elusive dream or whether i would be blessed with someone and hopefully a family to share it with, i do not know and i cannot tell.
Hurry up whoever you are.
